Tickets may be pre-purchased beginning September 2017, or they may be purchased at the door. We offer types of tickets: VIP and General Admission. VIP Tickets entitle you to goodies from our awesome sponsors and other benefits (including entry into the Dream raffle drawings; details to come), and General Admission tickets are perfect for those who join you for the Wedding Weekend, or for couples who may not need the extra VIP perks. Children under the age of 12 do not have to pay to enter the Expo.
One you purchase your tickets, you can redeem them at pre-registration on Friday, January 12, 2018, or you may redeem them at the door (VIP Ticket holders will also redeem other items at time of ticket redemption). Pre-registration is encouraged to make entering the Expo on Saturday morning a breeze!
Wedding Weekend attendees do not have to pre-register before the expo; however, we suggest you do! This will allow you to get into the expo quicker on Saturday morning, strategize which vendors you want to meet, see details on the giveaways, and decide which venues you want to visit on the Wedding Tour Saturday evening. Pre-registration is held at the OBWA Office located at 128 Grenville Street in Manteo (across from Front Porch Café) from Noon until 8 p.m.
To avoid being overwhelmed on Saturday morning, do your research on our wonderful vendors! Browse our complete list of vendors, and visit our blog and social media accounts to get some inspiration from their work. Make a list of key vendors to visit with at Expo, but don't limit yourself! Try to visit as many people as possible. You never know who you'll click with or what ideas might emerge! That's the beauty of this event.
Come prepared with pre-made labels to save time when signing up for giveaways at vendors' booths! Include: name, hometown, phone number, email address, and your wedding date/venue if available.
There will be nearly 200 vendors that are eager and excited to meet you! Come hungry as many of our catering and restaurant vendors will be serving up fresh, local samples! A lot of vendors offer booking incentives should you book them during the weekend (this is where those pre-made labels come in handy).
You do not have to visit every vendor at the Expo, but we do suggest that you keep your options open by visiting as many as possible! If you already have a certain vendor booked, then there's no need to visit other vendors in that category. Previous brides and grooms have said that by researching which vendors they wanted to meet before the day of the Expo was very beneficial. 2018 Expo Vendors will be announced beginning November 2017.
The Wedding Tour is a self-guided tour that takes place at various wedding venues and restaurants all throughout the Outer Banks that all attendees are encouraged to participate in. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the venues (many are set up like a wedding!), and to meet vendors in a more intimate setting. Wedding Weekend attendees will be given a map of all the venues participating in the Wedding Tour, and a full list of the Wedding Tour stops will be added to the website as they become available in December 2017.
While we believe anything is possible, we suggest taking your time at each venue on the Tour and greeting the vendors at those locations. Decide the areas on the Outer Banks that you would like to wed and visit the venues in those towns!
Not all members participate in this event, but the majority of them do!
