From the personalized programs by HLR Designs and the fun-filled decor by Renee Landry Events to Distinct Delights confections and glamorous linens by Ocean Atlantic Event Rentals, Daniel Pullen Photography is helping us sharing this Pamilco pretty affair featured in the 2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine.

From the Couple...

How He Asked: "Despite living on Hatteras Island, Danielle had never climbed the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse before, but had talked about it frequently. Aaron arrange a climb to the top of the lighthouse on early evening where he proposed once they arrived to the top."

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "We both live and met on Hatteras Island, so it seemed like the perfect place to have our special day to share with our friends and family from near far. There's no place like home!"

Weddings Inspiration: "We wanted to incorporate all things on Hatteras Island that are special to us. The Inn on Pamlico Sound is where Aaron took me on our first day and we couldn't have imagined having our wedding anywhere else. Danielle's mother was a huge part of the wedding planning and spent a year planning every detail to perfection."

Favorite Wedding Memory: "One of our favorite wedding day memories is being able to get away after the ceremony. Just the two of us with Kate and Daniel Pullen to take pictures at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse where we had gotten engaged."

From the Couple...

How They Met: "Meredith and Grand met in the Summer of 2010 while attending her borther, Chad's, wedding. (Grant and Chad attended law schools together in Charleston and the University of Florida, becoming good friends.) Shortly thereafter, Meredith and Grant began dating while living in different cities and at times different parts of the country. Ultimately, their respective careers brought them to Raleigh where their love for one another continued to flourish and they were engaged in 2014 while on vacation in San Francisco.

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "Meredith grew up vacationing in Kitty Hawk every Summer. Close family, friends and neighbors from Clayton, NC own the house and her family still vacations there every Summer. Grant had never been to the Outer Banks before he and Meredith started dating. Once she introduced him to the Outer Banks, he immediately fell in love too!"

Wedding Inspiration: "We wanted a rustic, romantic feel to our wedding and especially playing up the beautiful, natural scenery and landscape surrounding us in Manteo."

Favorite Wedding Memory: "Everything was absolutely perfect and it wouldn't have been possible without the incredible team we had around us to make it happen!"

2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine: First Colony Fête

Enchanted by the Outer Banks' for its allure of island simplicity, Kristin and Justin, along with To Have and To Hold OBX, designed a First Colony Inn around a sea-glass motif unlike any other. Bells & Whistles brought this vision to life with a natural, coastal oasis of oyster shells, driftwood, succulents and soft blooms. With the one and only Genevieve Stewart Photography and Swell Productions capturing every romantic moment, this is a destination fairy-tale we can't stop swooning over!

View more from Kristin and Justin's wedding, receive Outer Banks wedding inspiration and receive our in-demand vendor directory by reserving your complimentary copy of the 2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine.

From the Couple...

How They Met: "We met in the Summer of 2009 at a brewery in Historic Downtown Wilmington. Justin was the bartender and I was a part of their promotional team. Although I don't remember there being much interaction between us at work, we did get to spend sometime together when we were out with mutual friends. Neither of us were eager for anything serious as we both recently ended long-term relationships, but after a Summer of fun with friends and getting to know each other, we decided it was ridiculous to keep putting off the inevitable. We are so similar, yet so different in many ways. We've made each other laugh every day for six years, and luckily we have enough material to keep those laughs going for a lifetime!"

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "Justin and his mother moved to Kill Devil Hills in 1996 where she married her husband who was a native to the Outer Banks. He has so many memories on the Outer Banks and he couldn't wait to bring me back to his hometown. The first time he brought me home to meet his parents, I remember being in awe of the adorable Nags Head beach front homes and the simplicity of the island. Living in Wilmington, a quaint beach town of its own, we had everything we needed here to plan a wedding, but we knew that wasn't what we wanted. We love the way the Outer Banks makes us feel, and wanted our wedding guests to feel that too. It is a magical place that now holds our hearts."

Wedding Inspiration: "Sea glass. We didn't initially have a color palate of theme in mind when planning our wedding, but when we started picking our floral and decorations we decided on blues, greens, grays and browns. When we put them all together we soon realized that they resembled a handful of sea glass and our wedding grew from there. We didn't want bright colors and sea horses, we wanted soft colors and oyster shells. Using those ideas, we designed a relaxed, coastal wedding that was everything we envisioned and more!"

Favorite Wedding Memory: "Our venue met all of our wedding weekend needs. The First Colony Inn was large enough for our wedding party and immediate family members to spend the weekend with us. We hosted a barbecue welcome reception Friday night and were able to have breakfast with our family and friends all weekend. It was so special to have everyone close to us during our big day."

2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine: Aquatic Affair

When it came to planning this nautical-themed wedding, the rustic ambiance of the Hilton Garden Inn's Kitty Hawk Pier was the perfect venue to host Lauren and Hunter's aquatic affair.  Our favorite part of their darling wedding was the "message in a bottle" toss during their pier ceremony, officiated by Rev. Jay Bowman! Using the love letters exchanged that morning, they placed the letters in a bottle and tossed it into the ocean during the ceremony. With Kristi Midgette Photography capturing all of the unique, memorable moments of this Outer Banks Bride Magazine feature wedding, we're unlocking more steal-worthy details of this Outer Banks destination wedding.

From the Couple...

How He Asked: "Hunter proposed at a vineyard in Louisa, Virginia. We were out celebrating my birthday and the completion of my teaching license. The next thing I knew, the music stopped and Hunter was down on one knee with a diamond ring tied to a wine glass! In a tasting room full of family and friends, he asked me to marry him."

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "Hunter and I always dream of having a beach wedding. We visited the Outer Banks and feel in love with its beauty. We both love to fish, so deciding to get married on the pier was perfect for us! We love the rustic feel of Kitty Hawk Pier and knew right away that was the place we were meant to start our forever."

Wedding Inspiration: "We wanted to incorporate a navy and white striped nautical theme, but keep it elegant and classic at the same time. It was all about the details when it came down to planning. I wanted everything to be absolutely breathtaking, and it was!"

Favorite Wedding Memory: "We chose to incorporate a message in a bottle as part of our ceremony. Hunter and I exchanged letters to each other the morning of our wedding, delivered by Hunter's best man. We read each others letters and put them inside the bottle afters to send off to sea. We threw this bottle off the pier into the waves as part of our ceremony. It was a beautiful moment and we can't wait for someone to find that bottle someday!"

From the Couple...

How He Asked: "On our second day in Ireland, we were driving to the Cliffs of Moher on our way to Killarney. With be behind the wheel, I made a few unplanned detours having no idea there was a plan once we arrived at the Cliffs. We we finally arrived, Ricky started asking at ton of questions - "Where's the best view? What side is the best? Where should we go first?" We finally chose the right side to walk up right, which is where you get the best views of the Cliffs. At the top, we stopped and asked someone (Ricky had already chosen!) to take our photo. Before I could put it all together, Ricky was down on one knee with a ring made for my mother from my grandmother's wedding band asking me to marry him!"

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "I grew up going down tot the Outer Banks for family vacations and it has always been a special place to me. When Ricky and I started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted a location that was laid-back and welcoming, yet still elegant and refined. The Sanderling was the perfect balance."

Wedding Inspiration: "I really wanted an 'elegant beach' wedding! We chose a combination of pink, navy and silver for our color palette and I just loved how it all came together! Not only did our wedding party wear navy, but we used navy for our tablecloths paired with sequin runners, creating a very dramatic, formal look. Our flowers were incredible! The contrast between high and low, light and bright was amazing. My bouquet was large, yet soft and romantic. We wrapped the steam in lace from my grandmother's wedding dress and pinned it with a diamond horseshoe - an Irish tradition."

Favorite Wedding Memory: "We wanted all of our guests to feel like they were on vacation, and for them to truly feel like they were a part of our entire weekend. It meant so much to have so many of our family and friends travel to be with us during our special occasion. We started the wedding events Thursday evening with a welcome happy hour, Friday we had golf with the groom and beach yoga with the bride with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner that night. After the wedding on Saturday, we concluded the weekend with my parents hosted a farewell brunch on Sunday!"

2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine: Rustic Romance

Several celebrations, continuous laughter, endless fun and countless memories - Brian and Brandon's Outer Banks wedding week was nothing short of spectacular! The Proper Setting aided these two in designing a festival of love throughout the entire week, ending with vows on the grounds of Whalehead in Historic Corolla. Gussied-up in cafe lights, rustic seating, wagon wheels and whimsical blooms by Bells & Whistles, these gents flawlessly decked out their event home reception all captured by Genevieve Stewart Photography!

View more from Brian and Brandon's wedding, receive Outer Banks wedding inspiration and receive our in-demand vendor directory by reserving your complimentary copy of the 2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine.

From the Couple...

How He Asked: "Our engagement story is nothing short of comedic! Brandon planned an elaborate scavenger hunt across Durham, North Carolina that incorporated several of our closest friends who road tripped or flew in from all over the country. When I drove down South to meet Brandon, we ran into a couple snags that made us run behind to begin the hunt but it wasn't too long that I was handed my first clue...one I didn't understand at all! We drove throughout Chapel Hill and Durham making several stops, where we were met by our closest friends who held more mementos and more clues. We eventually ended up at the last stop, a hotel room covered in photos where I open several small bags that contained puzzle pieces. We put the puzzle together which was a picture of the two of us and the caption, "Will You Marry Me?" Of course, I said "yes!" and shortly thereafter our friends came through cheering as we celebrated with champagne!"

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "We use to have a home in South Nags Head when I was younger and Brandon loves the water, so when he suggested the Outer Banks we both thought its beautiful and serene environment would provide us the perfect backdrop for our wedding vision."

Wedding Inspiration: "Brandon and I both love the natural elements of the outdoors. We wanted a simple ceremony that focused on our story, our love for one another and that incorporated the many important people in our lives. We also love a good party and to dance, which is why we felt as thought we had to have a big dance floor that overlaid part of the pool. We asked Bells & Whistles to refrain from large centerpieces and use moss, candles and subtle flowers to create a tablescape that transformed out dining area into a wonderful woodland and that would highlight the beauty of simplicity. Our guests felt like they were transported away from the poolside into a beautiful forest with our rustic tablescapes and lighting!"

Favorite Wedding Memory: "Hands down, our favorite memory is our first dance. I love country music and the song we chose, 'Who I am With You' by Chris Young truly reflects our relationship. Being a gay couple, it was difficult for both Brandon and I to come out to our friends and family, but in the end it doesn't matter what other people thought of our relationship. We had each other and we could be ourselves and be honest with one another - this song reflected that!"

2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine: Coastfully Wed

With a ceremony by the sound and country club reception at The Currituck Club to day-after photo session with ColemanShots by the ocean, Taylor and John's coastal affair took us on a journey across the Outer Banks. Oozing natural, garden glamour with splashes of green and gold, this wedding is the definition of lovely. Luckily, we have their wedding film by Swell Productions to allow us to relive the splendor on repeat.

From the Couple...

How The Met: "We met while working together at a sailing center in Corolla in the summer of 2011. John had moved from South Carolina and took a job as the sailing center's Site Manager and Taylor just graduated college in Virginia and took a Summer job there renting out water-sport equipment. We became friends through working together and made our romantic relationship official that September - we also decided to make  our move to the Outer Banks a permanent one!"

Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "We met here and live here!"

Wedding Inspiration: "We wanted our wedding to be everything that is simple, natural beauty - something we feel encompasses our relationship as a whole. The most important thing to us was to be able to get married in a place that had significant meaning to both of us, and that we could always come back to visit and even bring our keys one day. Our wedding quickly turned into an earthy, very natural, garden glam style."

Favorite Wedding Memory: "Our top favorite memory is our first look! Once we saw each other for the first time, every nerve we had went away and it was just the most emotional, flawless moment for us that we will never forget."
