As the first same-sex couple to be wed in Pennsylvania, Ashley and Lindsay celebrated their love just a few months shy of marriage equality in North Carolina. How She Asked: Ashley proposed to Lindsay on their three year anniversary at the "LOVE" statue in Philadelphia. With a secret photographer capturing the moment, friends a family waited for their arrival at their favorite Italian restaurant! Two months later, Lindsay planned a proposal of her own at the same location, and threw a surprise engagement party the following day.
Favorite Wedding Memories: "Watching everyone around us celebrate love and togetherness, and jumping into the pool (in our dresses) with our guests at the end of the night," recalls Lindsay. "Being welcomed by a state, vendors, friends, and family, to celebrate a day that describes our relationship to a tee, is something we will never be able to put into words."
Advice For Future Couples Tying The Knot: "Take a deep breath! It will all come together and whatever doesn't, doesn't."
