How he asked: Eric proposed on the beach at the end of a vacation. It was a Saturday morning, and we were the only two on the beach. After Eric got down on one knee, and Shelby said yes, we drove straight to the jeweler to pick out a ring. Eric wanted Shelby to pick the ring out herself because he wanted her to love it.
Why they chose to wed in the Outer Banks: We chose to get married in the Outer Banks because when we visited the Wild Horse, we could picture our ceremony on the porch overlooking the ocean. We loved the uniqueness of the 4x4 area and the remoteness of the venue. We knew that if we chose a vacation home that it would be very much a "build your own" venue. This way we could have everything exactly the way we pictured it.
Favorite part of their wedding day: Writing our vows together and reciting them in unison.
