How long have you been involved in weddings on the Outer Banks?
The Whalehead property has been a beautiful destination venue location for 20 years. One of which was featured in Martha Stewart Weddings, 2000 Winter edition. I personally have been involved with weddings since November 2015.
What makes the Outer Banks unique and special to you?
The tranquility that is felt sitting on the beautiful beaches watching an amazing sunrise or capturing that perfect sunset picture over the Currituck Sound, with the infamous Footbridge in Historic Corolla Park.
What is unique about your business? What are you known for?
What sets Whalehead property apart from other venues on the Outer Banks, it sits on 39 pristine acres along the Currituck Sound in Historic Corolla, Whalehead is a beautifully restored 1920s-era Art Nouveau-style mansion listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Whalehead is known for the breathtaking backdrops of 80-year-old Live Oak trees and a unique boathouse and Footbridge including the historic Currituck Beach Lighthouse, gorgeous sunsets from the covered gazebo, or in dramatic flair from the porch of an architectural masterpiece.
