Nick + Sharon | NC Aquarium Wedding
Wedding Date: October 8, 2017 | Hometown: Washington, D.C.
The North Carolina Aquarium on Roanoke Island lends itself to be a fun and unique venue, and that's exactly what Nick and Sharon wanted their guests to experience for their Outer Banks wedding. The bride and her bridesmaids carried gorgeous bouquets made with calla lilies, stock, ranunculus and fern—perfect for their fall affair.
The couple tied the knot on the Aquarium's pier before heading inside where the shark tanks provided a stunning backdrop. Their purple linens and simple floating, flickering candle centerpieces created a perfect ambiance we wish we were a part of!
To round out a memorable wedding, guests ventured through aquatic environments as they toasted to the newlyweds. "Dancing amidst the jellyfish to our favorite '90s pop music is an experience that can't be replicated!" said the bride. Check out their team of vendors and prepare to ooh and aah.

FROM THE COUPLE
Why did you choose the Outer Banks for your destination wedding?
We chose the Outer Banks because we both grew up with a connection to the North Carolina coast. Nick's grandparents had a house in Southern Shores and he spent summers in the Outer Banks. His family lives there now and we visit often. My family has a beach house further south along the Crystal Coast in Emerald Isle and I spent time there every summer. Since both of our families had this long connection to the Carolinas, we thought it would make the perfect setting for our wedding.
What was your absolute favorite part of your wedding day?
Spending time with so many family and friends in the lead-up to the wedding was an absolute joy and we were honored that so many were able to travel for our wedding. Dancing amidst the jellyfish to our favorite '90s pop music is an experience that can't be replicated!
