2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine: Grande Tropics
When you get engaged in Brazil, it is only fitting to draw inspiration its the tropical foliage when planning your Grande Ritz Palm wedding. From the bohemian blooms by Renee Landry Events to the decadent menu by Cafe Lachine, Engaging Events aided Meghan and Mark in creating a homegrown jubilee with vibrant flare. With Daniel Pullen Photography behind the lens, this grande celebration completely won us over and we are so excited to feature these Corolla natives in the 2016 Outer Banks Bride Magazine!
From the Couple...
How They Met: "Mark and I met seven years ago when I worked at his restaurant, Metropolis. I was a pretty terrible waitress and decided to go back to school to become an art teacher. Two years later, we ran into each other at a concert in Virginia, and have been together ever since! Today, we still have the pleasure of working closely together, because I now own an art studio next door to Metropolis!"
Why They Chose the Outer Banks: "It's our home! We live in Corolla and my parent's live in Duck, just across the street from the Grande Ritz Palm. We feel so lucky to call such a beautiful place home, and couldn't have imagined getting married anywhere else."
Wedding Inspiration: "Mark proposed while we were on vacation in Brazil, and the beautiful flowers we saw there definitely inspired our wedding theme. I wanted a tropical, bohemian vibe with lots of greenery - palm and banana leaves - and dark, dramatic pops of color. The Grande Ritz Palm was the perfect backdrop, and everyone at Renee Landry Events did such an amazing job bringing my ideas to life!"
Favorite Wedding Memory: "What I love about our wedding was that it was so us! It was a perfect day full of happiness and laughter! Since we live on the Outer Banks and Mark is in the wedding industry, many of our friends are our friends! From my hair and makeup to our officiant and caterers, we knew we were in great hands with people who care about us."
