This fairytale oceanfront wedding boasted a magical mix of jewel-toned hydrangeas, peonies, dahlias, and garden roses. Though there was no shortage of gorgeous flowers, family was the focal point of Will and Lara's wedding day. Their 35 guests gathered around the beach house for a daylong party with a catered brunch and OBX Spa Squad treatments before the wedding. The couple exchanged their vows as the alluring sounds of the ocean reeled them in for what be a fun and relaxing celebration!

FROM THE COUPLE
How they met: Will and I met when he was delivering the sport fishing yacht he captained from Pirates Cove in Manteo to their winter fishing grounds in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. They got "stuck" in Key West for a week due to bad weather, and he met me the first evening in town, as I was in the process of being stood up for a date. We always thought it was fate that we met in such a random and completely unforeseen way.
Why they chose to wed on the Outer Banks: Over the years, we were able to evolve our combined residency so that we spend the summer and fall in Wanchese and the winter and spring in Key West. With my kids' school schedule as well as those of the rest of our family, the summer time was a natural choice, and what better place than the beach we all love. We looked at a few other ideas, but none had the attraction of being able to all spend the week playing together at the beach.
The inspiration behind their wedding: We wanted our wedding to be about family..to be relaxed, fun, celebratory. We really envisioned the week to be more of a family reunion...kicked off by our wedding. The wedding day festivities, decor, ceremony, reception were all built around wanting the day to be filled with joy, flowers, relaxation, and no stress.
